What is laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal provides a lasting solution for excessive or unwanted hair. Pulsed light intensely targets hair follicles for results.

Does it treat all skin types?

Yes, all skin types can safely be treated by Diolux.

How long does it take?

Legs can be done in 20 minutes and backs can be done in six minutes. It’s very quick for other areas including face, underarms, bikini area, arms and chest.

How many treatments will it take to achieve results?

Everyone is different. Some people receive results with just one treatment, but most times it takes a series of treatment to effectively get the results you want. There are three phases of hair growth: Anagen, Catagen and Telogen. The Anagen phase is when you can see the hair and the hair follicle is active and growing. During this stage, the laser can identify the hair follicle and destroy it. When hair is in the Telogen phase, it’s said to be resting and the laser cannot do its work during this time.

How often should I get treated?

For optimal results, we recommend laser hair removal treatments be done at four week intervals. Depending on the outcome, skin type, hair color, hair thickness, follicle density, genetics, sun exposure and your own expectations, five treatments are recommended. After you’ve reached your goal, ongoing maintenance can be done as needed.

What areas can be treated with laser hair removal?

Almost any area can be treated. The most popular areas are arms, underarms, legs, hands and feet; facial areas including cheeks, nose, eyebrows and beard; neck and body areas including bikini area, chest, back, abs and shoulders.

What can I expect during laser hair removal?

The skin will be cleansed and a light layer of cool gel is applied. You will be given laser goggles to block the light. The cool-tipped handpiece will glide across your skin and using heat, target hair follicles. Diolux is known to be the most effective and comfortable device on the market.

What will I feel like post-treatment?

Following the treatment, the skin could be slightly red similar to razor burn. Some of your sun spots or freckles may get darker and then lighten. It is possible that there will be hair lying on the surface of the skin. It is acceptable to continue to shave the area but do not wax or tan until you are done with your series of hair removal treatments. After a few weeks, you will notice that the area has less hair, and you might be shaving less often.
